पुस्तकें मानव की सबसे बड़ी मित्र होती हैं। ये ज्ञानार्जन की प्रमुख स्त्रोत हैं। इनके द्वारा एक समाज को दूसरे समाज की परम्पराओं के बारे में जानकारी मिलती है।
Books are man's greatest friend. These are the main sources of knowledge. Through these, one society gets information about the traditions of another society.
विश्व साहित्य की कुछ प्रमुख पुस्तक एवं उनके लेखक
सत्यार्थ प्रकाश- यह स्वामी दयानंद सरस्वती की पुस्तक है। दयानंद सरस्वती आर्य समाज के संस्थापक थे। इन्होंने हिंदू समाज की अनेक कुरीतियों को दूर करने का प्रयत्न किया। इस पुस्तक में उनके विचारों का सार है।

Satyarth PrakashThis is a book by Swami Dayanand Saraswati. Dayanand Saraswati was the founder of Arya Samaj. He tried to remove many evils of Hindu society. His thoughts are summarized in this book.
मालगुडी डेज- यह आर°के° नारायण की प्रसिद्ध रचना है। इस रचना पर दूरदर्शन का एक धारावाहिक भी बन चुका है। आर°के° नारायण अंग्रेजी भाषा के प्रसिद्ध भारतीय साहित्यकार थे।
मर्चेण्ट ऑफ वेनिस- यह विलियम शेक्सपीयर की प्रसिद्ध रचना है। ये इंग्लैण्ड के निवासी तथा अंग्रेजी साहित्य के महानतम कवि एवं नाटककार थे।
वार एण्ड पीस- यह लियो टाॅलस्टॅाय की प्रसिद्ध पुस्तक है।वे रूस के साहित्यकार थे।
Malgudi Days- This is a famous composition of R°K° Narayan. A Doordarshan serial has also been made on this composition. RK ° Narayan was a famous Indian litterateur of the English language.
Merchant of Venice This is the famous work of William Shakespeare. He was a resident of England and the greatest poet and playwright of English literature.
War and Peace-This is the famous book of Leo Tolstoy.He was a Russian litterateur.
पंचतंत्र- यह विष्णु शर्मा की विश्व प्रसिद्ध रचना है।यह उपदेशात्मक कहानियों का संग्रह है।
पैराडाइज लाॅस्ट- यह जाॅन मिल्टन की रचना है।जाॅन मिल्टन को अंग्रेजी साहित्य का सूरदास कहा जाता है।
कुली- यह मुल्कराज आनंद की प्रसिद्ध रचना है। इसमें भारत में कुलियों के जीवन- संघर्षों पर प्रकाश डाला गया है।
Panchatantra- This is a world famous work of Vishnu Sharma. It is a collection of didactic stories.
Paradise Last- This is the work of John Milton. John Milton is called Surdas of English literature.
Coolie This is the famous composition of Mulkraj Anand. It sheds light on the life of coolies– struggles in India.
गुलिवर की यात्राएं- यह जोनाथन स्विफ्ट की एक अत्यंत प्रसिद्ध पुस्तक है।
अरेबियन नाइट्स- यह सर रिचर्ड बर्टन की प्रसिद्ध रचना है। यह अरबी कहानियों का संग्रह है।
आनंद मठ - यह बंकिमचंद्र चटर्जी की रचना है। भारत का राष्ट्रीय ‘वन्देमातरम्’ इसी पुस्तक से लिया गया है।

Arabian Nights This is a famous work by Sir Richard Burton. This is a collection of Arabic stories.
Anand Math - This is the creation of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee. National 'Vande Mataram' of India is taken from this book.
मदर- यह मैक्सिम गोर्की का उपन्यास है। वे सोवियत रूस के प्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार थे।
ओरिजन ऑफ स्पेशीज- यह डार्विन की पुस्तक है। इसमें ‘योग्यता की उत्तरजीविता’ के सिद्धांत को समझाया गया है।
रिपब्लिक- यह प्लेटो की प्रसिद्ध रचना है। प्लेटो सकरात के शिष्य थे।
पाॅलिटिक्स- यह अरस्तू की रचना है।वे प्लेटो के शिष्य थे।
ओडिसी- यह होमर की पुस्तक है। ओडिसी इनकी दूसरी प्रसिद्ध रचना है।
Mother- This is a novel by Maxim Gorky. He was a famous litterateur of Soviet Russia.
Origin of Species This is Darwin's book. It explains the principle of 'survival of merit'.
Republic- This is the famous work of Plato. Plato was a disciple of Sacrates.
Politics- This is the work of Aristotle. He was a disciple of Plato.
The Odyssey This is the book of Homer. Odyssey is his second famous work.
